Domestic animal control services in the City of Santee are provided by the San Diego County Department of Animal Services on a contractual basis. These services include: dog licensing, rabies vaccinations, microchip pet identification, low-cost spay and neuter referrals, pet adoptions, patrol and investigation of animal violations, lost and found services, pet ownership training, and pet care & behavioral tips.
The Santee Sheriff's Department responds to barking dog complaints while the City of Santee, Public Services Division handles dead animal removal.
