Graffiti is not an art - it is a crime. It is also a public nuisance and “quality of life” issue for Santee residents and other surrounding communities. Therefore, the City takes a very active approach to wiping out graffiti and encourages citizens to report graffiti when sighted. |

Graffiti writers typically put up their writings for one reason - to be seen. If graffiti is not painted over quickly it can attract more graffiti, which is why the City assists residents and local businesses in removing graffiti from private property at no expense to the property owner. The City asks the property owner to sign a consent form before Public Services staff removes the Graffiti. This form remains on file, and if the vandals return, the City will be able to take immediate action. |
